4 Lessons from Underdogs

4-lessons-from-underdogs I admit I get a thrill when minnows cause an upset. Although the Icelanders’ fairy tale eventually ended with a defeat to the French this morning (but the Welsh continue on their magical trip) they made more progress than everyone predicted or gave them a chance. Their football jerseys are also selling in quantities many times more than supply. So yes everyone  – and not just I – love it when the minnows triumph.

These 4 lessons carved from an age-old formula are enough to stir the underdog, the new start-up, the lesser ones, the ones on the fringe, the ones who dream of doing the unexpected. They are not new and countless management books have written about them. Yet it’s inspiring when we see them played out on a world stage.
